Proform Civil was contracted to undertake the green field's design of the Brooking Road extension. The project includes the design of large culverts, conventional road works and will form an important new link for future developments. The project involved design and documentation to provide an important link to future development and alleviate traffic quantities from alternative local distributor routes.

Brooking Road is an existing route linking Owen Road to Great Eastern Highway, however the link through the valley between Owen and Richardson Roads is yet to be constructed. The design provided by Proform Civil includes a roundabout suitable for right of way vehicles at the Richardson Road Intersection.

The design had to overcome steep grades of over 10%. Due to the large cut and fill requirements the scope of the design also entailed the redesign of connecting access roads and intersections further down the access roads such as Falls Road.

The investigation of the drainage design included a review of the drainage design from nearby and future developments to ensure culvert crossings would withstand large storm events with minimal impact to nearby property. The Brooking Road corridor for the scope is conveniently located in a steep valley and the earthworks fill batter was designed to form an open drainage route.

Funding originally granted for the construction of this project was pulled and the project has not yet reached detailed design.
