Road Design: Baldivis Road Boulevard Upgrade

Location: Baldivis - WA

Proform Civil was contracted to undertake the design and documentation to upgrade two kilometres of Baldivis Road (Safety Bay Road to Highbury Boulevard) to a boulevard style layout which included nine intersections and two roundabouts.

The cross section incorporated a central median, two way traffic and cycle lanes, underground drainage networks and footpaths. The project incorporated the coordination of Geotech investigation and reports, underground service pruning/surveying and a Road Safety Audit to be undertaken by an independent consultant.

The project would provide improved amenities to service adjacent rapid residential developments. The project presented challenges with the consistent upgrade of utilities, flat topography and a narrow road corridor adjacent to a conservation reserve. The vertical design was optimised to overcome minimum grades and adhere to relevant standards without drastically affecting adjacent property.

A signage and pavement marking plan was developed for the scope of work and approved by Main Roads. The detailed design will be issued for construction once modification works have been completed to conflicting utilities.

Clients Feedback
"I have had the pleasure of working with Dale from Proform Civil Engineering Design Drafting on civil design projects since 2014 and in that time I have come to know Dale to be courteous, capable and punctual. His design work is technically accurate and clearly displayed for ease of construction. This combined with his flexibility to adapt to unforseen changes to the design scope makes him a preferred option to larger and often, more expensive Engineering Design Consultancies.
I have no hesitation in recommending Dale for the timely and efficient completion of your future civil design projects."
